4 New Years Resolutions That Camping Can Help You Meet

Every year most people have big ambitions on their New Years resolutions.  Some succeed while others try their best but are unable to accomplish the end goal.  People decide to spend more family time or maybe lose some weight.  Read more to learn how camping can help you stay on track while completing your New Years resolutions.

Spending More Time with Family and Friends

We tend to get busy with the hustle and bustle of life.  This is a great New Years resolution that brings family and friends closer together.  As busy as we are in life people still find time to enjoy the great outdoors.  Camping can provide the much-needed time with family and friends during a group outing.  Many campgrounds offer group sites that can accommodate RV’s, tents, and even offer lodging.  One of our favorite campgrounds for group outings is Howling Hills Campground nestled in the driftless area of Wisconsin you will be surrounded by beautiful bluffs only 30 minutes west of Wisconsin Dells.

Weight Loss

Many people decide on weight loss for a New Years resolution.  You could spend time driving back and forth to a gym or you can go camping and do some hiking instead.  The benefit of hiking versus a gym are the stunning views you can enjoy of the outdoors.  Hiking outdoors promotes cardiovascular fitness, mental well-being, and social connections.  If you decide to set weight loss as a New Years resolution why not incorporate it with the outdoors.

More Traveling

While traveling can be fun it can also be costly.  Camping provides you with an opportunity to see new places at a fraction of the cost.  Hotels are nice, however, they can cost more than double the cost of a campsite or even a cabin rental.  You don’t need an RV or a tent to go camping since many campgrounds offer cabin rentals as well.  Camping also provides a way to cook meals instead of going out for meals while staying in a hotel which will also help save money while traveling.

Be Less Stressed

Stress plays a major role in most lives.  There have been studies stating that camping reduces stress levels while promoting better sleep.  Being in the outdoors with family and friends helps put things into perspective, promotes physical activity, and improves mental health.  You can read more about how camping reduces stress and promotes mental well-being at Mayo Clinic Camping Article
